My poem "Booty Call" will appear in the Uphook Press anthology, gape-seed, due out in September, 2011. There will be readings in New York City and San Francisco. Just learned of the Bay Area dates and locations. Looking forward to seeing all my West Coast friends!

- Karen Hildebrand is the author of CROSSING PLEASURE AVENUE (Indolent Books 2018), nominated for the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize for a first book. Recent work has appeared in Scoundrel Time, Slipstream, Trailer Park Quarterly, Defunct, No Dear, LEON, Quarter After Eight, Pigeon Pages, Poetry Bay, South Florida Poetry Journal and Maintenant. She has been featured reader in NYC at the Bryant Park Reading Room, Pete's Candy Store, KGB Lit Bar, Gowanus Dredger's Canoe Club and various bookstores, bars and cafes. Her poetry has been adapted for a play and nominated for the Pushcart. In 2017, she had the honor of co-editing Jane Underwood's posthumous collection, "When My Heart Goes Dark, I Turn the Porch Light On," (Blue Light Press). Karen has been a human resource director, arts administrator and, most happily, magazine editor. She writes about dance for Fjord Review, The Brooklyn Rail, Dance Magazine and can be heard on the podcast, “PillowVoices,” by Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival. She holds an MFA in poetry from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. Originally from Colorado, she lives in Brooklyn.
